The Qualified Longevity Annuity Contract (QLAQ) is an effective way to have a fixed income arrangement late in retirement for those who are expected to live longer than regular life expectancy.  This is essentially accomplished through awesome mortality credits. A QLAQ is also known as a deferred income annuity. Please note, this strategy makes the most sense for those who are expected to live into their 90’s because the breakeven usually isn’t until one’s late 80’s.
