I have the Roth IRA situated before another account in the consumption order section, why isn’t the Roth IRA money getting used first?

There’s a lot rules and a handful of exclusions as to whether or not someone can tap into a Roth IRA prior to 59 1/2 without a penalty and tax implications. That’s right, even Roth IRA’s can be taxed (earnings) if it’s being used prior to 59 1/2. Again, there’s a lot of variables as to whether the penalty and/or taxes will be applied. To play it safe, Cash Flow Decisions does not allow Roth IRA distributions prior to 59 1/2
